candidate privacy policy

Government Executive League (GEL) will use personal information for recruitment purposes only, and if a candidate is offered a position or becomes employed by a GEL client, for other employment-related purposes.

Candidate privacy is important to GEL.  We will maintain privacy and encourage similar behavior from others participating in the executive recruitment process.  There is a possibility that State or local law requires public disclosure of candidate information.   Further, there is a possibility, especially for the higher profile positions, that clients not under the control of GEL, may disclose candidate information.

By submitting a resume and application to GEL, candidates are agreeing that we may use it for recruitment purposes (including transferring the data to clients, transferring information to other companies authorized to perform specific services for GEL, and/or other processing relevant to recruitment purposes). It will not be shared with others for non-recruitment purposes.

Applications and resumes should include information relevant to employment history and education (degrees obtained, places worked, positions held, relevant awards, and so forth). GEL recommends not disclosing sensitive personal characteristics (e.g. gender, height, weight, religion, philosophical or political beliefs, or financial data) in the initial application, resume, or letters to GEL.

GEL will not retain personal information longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is collected. Applications and resumes may be retained in order to comply with various requirements on applicant data reporting.
